Pelephone and Select Communications sign MVNO agreement

Select Communications has reportedly inked a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) deal with Israeli cellco Pelephone under which it will be able to offer services over the latter’s infrastructure. According to Globes Online, with Select having obtained permission to offer wireless services from the Ministry of Communications, it will use the 055-70 prefix, and is expected to provide a range of services, including mobile voice, SMS and internet access under its deal with Pelephone. Commenting on the development, Select Communications CEO Avner Porat was cited as saying: ‘This agreement is important to Select, creating synergy between MVNO services and Select’s added value services for private and business customers. It enables us to expand our services to our customers through Pelephone’s technology and quality access.’
